Team Beachbody Summit 2011

Well the 2011 Summit has come and gone and it was a great event this year.
There were great announcements and alot of good information on the products and workouts.

So let’s get started with a review.
This years Summit was at the JW Marriott downtown LA, a very nice hotel, and they did what they could to make us feel welcome. With the number of people though, things did get a little chaotic at times.

I arrived early and decided to take a tour of the corporate offices again and some of the new things there were the office is expanding by another 40000 square feet because of the new coaches and the amount of sales that are being generated, larger offices are needed to keep things running smooth.

At the general session we had some great announcements:
1) New Shakeology flavor, “Tropical” to be on sale by the end of the year, though we did have a chance to try it. It first tasted like “bubble gum” then had another taste come through. Unfortunately they added other things to the Shake, so we didn’t get a chance to try it “straight” and get the “real” taste.
Some good news about the new Shakeology is there are some new ingredients in it which will make it lower on the glycemic index then the current flavors.
Some folks were yelling on the following day to mix it with the Chocolate and so had to try that and it was very good, but still need to try it straight to see how it really tastes. Continue reading

Have you been waiting for the follow up to Insanity? Well it’s now available, check out the clip

Here is some additional information of what INSANITY: THE ASYLUM has…

Are you ready for game day? As Shaun T says, “You can’t practice all the time. You have to perform at some point.” Like spring training, THE ASYLUM is the program that will get you ready to perform at your peak.

If you’ve already completed INSANITY®, you might be wondering, why do I need THE ASYLUM? Here are 5 significant differences between the two programs:

10 Minute Trainer

It’s been a little while since I’ve blogged here and have been jumping between a few workouts.
I’ve now decided to do 10 Minute Trainer, which is a series of workouts that Tony Horton put together for people that are short on time but want to get in some type of exercise.

The way the workout calendar is made up you work out for 4 weeks and 7 days a week since the workouts are short.
You can do 1 workout a day though for “faster” results it does have 3 workouts/day set up in case you can avail yourself either doing it all at once or at different times during the day.

There is a resistance band that comes with the program along with a “cardio belt” that you can attach to a door to help give some additional resistance.

After doing the first set of workouts today, which the main one was “Cardio” and additional were “Lower Body” and “Abs”, these workouts are intense and move quickly from move to move, which does get the heart pumping and the “Abs” workout does have alot of plank positioning in it, so you feel it in your arms.

The workouts that have the cardio resistance band, after reading what some others have posted, some people use the bands and others don’t. If you put in the effort and don’t have the ability to use the bands then you can still get a good workout in.

You can also play the DVD so it will do 3 workouts in a row without you having to keep “pushing play” and will have the 2 minute warm-up at the beginning after finishing the last one the cool down will play.

There is a nutrition plan that comes with the program, though not as extensive as something like P90X, or Power 90 it does give you a good foundation.
There also is a 2 day fast start that is basically the Shakeology cleanse but is a 2 day cleanse instead of 3 day, and also a “10 day lean plan” which is to lose one jean size in 10 days.
It has a 10 day menu and 2 workouts/day.

So we’ll see how it goes and I’ll keep you posted 😉
Till the next review
